Discovering Somendenna: a picturesque village in the Orobie mountains

If you're looking for a tranquil place to spend your holidays surrounded by nature, Somendenna could be just what you're looking for. This hamlet of Zogno, located along the slopes of the Orobie mountains, has only 329 inhabitants and is a place of ancient charm that still manages to impress visitors.

History

The history of Somendenna dates back to ancient times: the village was part of the territory of Endenna, divided between the upper part (summa Endenna) and the lower part. Later on, Somendenna became an independent commune until it was annexed to the Zogno municipality in 1928. Today, the hamlet is divided into four parts, with the "center" adjacent to the Church of San Giacomo Maggiore.
