This hamlet of Zogno, located along the slopes of the Orobie mountains, has only 329 inhabitants and is a place of ancient charm that still manages to impress visitors.
History
The history of Somendenna dates back to ancient times: the village was part of the territory of Endenna, divided between the upper part (summa Endenna) and the lower part. Later on, Somendenna became an independent commune until it was annexed to the Zogno municipality in 1928. Today, the hamlet is divided into four parts, with the "center" adjacent to the Church of San Giacomo Maggiore.
Infrastructure and transportation
Somendenna can be reached through a municipal road that starts from the center of Zogno and passes through the other hamlets of Endenna, Miragolo San Marco, Miragolo San Salvatore, and Sambusita, until it reaches the Val Serina. It is also reachable via the B20C bus line of SAB company, which goes through the city of Zogno and heads towards Val Serina from the Bergamo railway station.
