During the 16th century, Collio became famous for the production of printed books, which continued until 1538. However, the Fracassini brothers, known for their editorial activities, were suspected of producing heretical booklets, and in 1543, a ruthless propaganda of this doctrine was made in Collio.

In 1555, Collio suffered a violent fire that destroyed 260 houses in the hamlet of Tizio. In 1625, the parish church of San Colombano, already in existence since 1389, was rebuilt and consecrated.
