Garino is an area of considerable territorial extension. For this reason, in 1961 it was established as a hamlet of Vinovo. Its geographical location borders other municipalities in the area.
History
The origins of the name
Garino takes its name from the Garino family, who contributed to the land division of the place. The toponym Garino was chosen as the third option within a referendum open to the citizens of that time, as an alternative to the names of Domenico Savio and Sotti.
The following years
Over the years, Garino has had considerable urban and demographic development. In the seventies, two residential villages were built which allowed the hamlet to grow and become a point of reference for many citizens.
Sport
There is a lot of sport in Garino, from the Polisportiva Garino, a football team founded in 1983, to its new promotion to the next category, the Promozione. In the last two years, the team has obtained two consecutive promotions. In 2018, the team reached the semi-finals of the Piemonte Cup of the First Category.
