Hello from Villa Biscossi: History and Monuments of the Small Lombard Community of 61 Inhabitants

Villa Biscossi is a small municipality in the province of Pavia in Lombardy, known since the 13th century as Villa Piperatorum. Today it has only 61 inhabitants, but it has a history that deserves to be told. Below you will find all the information about the monuments and places of interest in Villa Biscossi, accompanied by their stories and curiosities.

History

Villa Biscossi has been part of the county of Mede since the 13th century, and the Biscossi or Biscossa, who were part of the vast consortium of the Counts of Mede, were its particular lords. Over the years, the community has remained alive thanks to agricultural and artisanal activities, while the Casale Palace, the ancient residence of the Biscossi family, underwent a period of great decline around the 1930s due to the abandonment by the owners.
