However, in 1809, through a royal decree by Napoleon, Coazzano was suppressed and annexed to Rosate.

Later, under the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Coazzano was reinstated as a municipality, but was moved to the Province of Pavia. By 1859, the population had risen to 490 inhabitants. However, in 1870, a royal decree by Vittorio Emanuele II definitively dissolved the municipality, annexing it to Vernate.
