Welcome to Bolzano, a city located in the wide basin created by the intersection of the valleys of the Val d'Isarco, Sarentino, and Adige in Trentino-Alto Adige. With a population of 106,156 inhabitants, Bolzano is the capital of the homonymous autonomous Province. The population of the city is mainly Italian (73.30%), German (25.02%), and Ladin (0.68%). The Bolzano agglomeration has 167,912 inhabitants and also includes the municipalities of Appiano sulla Strada del Vino, Bronzolo, Cornedo all'Isarco, Laives, Ora, San Genesio Atesino, Terlano, and Vadena.

Bolzano is located at an altitude of 265 m above sea level and surrounded by valleys and mountains. Bolzano is crossed by the Talvera stream and the Isarco River that flow into the city and empty into the Adige a few kilometers south of the city itself.
