Trucco
Welcome to Trucco: a historic hamlet of Ventimiglia
Hi guys, today I will talk about a particular hamlet of Ventimiglia: Trucco, or as it is called in the local dialect, ''U Trüccu''. This historic center is located just 6 km from the municipal capital and is located on the Colle di Tenda and Valle Roja state road 20.
The history of Trucco
Trucco has a well-rooted history that dates back to the 17th century. The first mention of the center dates back to 1655, but the definitive name is attested only in 1861, when the current toponym is indicated on the topographic map of the Kingdom of Sardinia. In the 1655 land register, instead, the existence of "a land called the 'Truco'" is recorded.
Places and monuments to visit
Trucco offers visitors some places to see during a walk in its territory. The main religious architectures are the Parish Church of Saints Peter and Paul and the Chapel of Saint Anthony, with a characteristic fountain and oven.
The village is divided into districts, including Nigi, Ciai, Baussi, and Murinai. Each of them tells a particular story and offers picturesque views for photography enthusiasts.
