History
The toponym Pantasina has proto-indo-european Greek origins and means "a place located entirely on the bank of a land, of a riverbed". Over the centuries, Pantasina has been part of the castellania of Pietralata Superiore and has undergone various dominations, including those of the Lascaris of Ventimiglia and the Duchy of Savoy. With the Napoleonic domination, Pantasina became part of the borders of the Ligurian Republic, then passed to the Kingdom of Sardinia and finally to the Kingdom of Italy. In 1928, the municipality of Pantasina was abolished and merged with that of Vasia.
Monuments and places of interest
Despite its small size, Pantasina boasts some interesting religious architecture, including the parish church of the Transfiguration of Jesus, dating back to the seventeenth century.
