Seismology

Mantegazza has a very low seismic classification and has been classified as a zone 4 municipality (low seismicity) by the national Department of Civil Protection. Although it is a fraction with low seismicity, in its history, Mantegazza has experienced five earthquakes: that of 1397 (5.37 M<sub>L</sub>), that of 1895 (4.63 M<sub>L</sub>), that of 2009 (2.3 M<sub>L</sub>), that of 2011 (2.1 M<sub>L</sub>) and that of 2013 (2.4 M<sub>L</sub>). Luckily, these events did not cause significant damage.

Climate

Mantegazza has a climatic characteristic of the northern Italian plains with cold and quite rigid winters and summers that are subject to high temperatures; rainfall mainly occurs in autumn and spring.
