The History and Symbols of Valvasone Arzene
Valvasone Arzene was established on January 1, 2015, by the merger of the municipalities of Valvasone and Arzene. However, even before the fusion, the two towns were contiguous. The municipality was declared legal seat in Valvasone while the town council meets in the former town hall of Arzene.
The emblems of this municipality are a coat of arms and a gonfalon granted by the President of the Republic on February 3, 2017. In the first, we find the emblems of the two municipalities that founded Valvasone Arzene. In the second, it is a blue drapery.
The Monuments and Places of Interest in Valvasone Arzene
There are many things to see in Valvasone Arzene! Among the most significant monuments, we find the Castle of Valvasone, declared a national monument, the Church of San Michele Arcangelo of Arzene, from 1953, the Church of S. Margherita, dating back to the 10th century, and the Duomo of Valvasone.
