The history of Vallelunga Pratameno dates back to the Bronze Age when the territory was inhabited by indigenous populations. The current town was founded in 1623 by the noble Pietro Marino, who obtained permission to settle the population there. Until 1865, the municipality was known only as "Vallelunga," but in that year the name "Pratameno" was added in honor of the Duke of Pratameno, who had been the founder of the new village. Over the centuries, the territory has been ruled by different dynasties, including that of the Notarbartolo, which has made various improvements to the area.
