Motta San Damiano

The Story of Motta San Damiano Station

Motta San Damiano Station is a railway station located in the municipality of Pavia, opened in 1866 along with the Pavia-Cremona Railway line. Built by the Southern Railway Companies, the building was constructed in the classic railway style of the time.

Station Facilities and Infrastructure

The station consists of a passenger building, which is spread over three sections. The central section has two floors, while the two side sections are symmetrically developed. Currently, the building is in a state of severe disrepair.

The railway system consists of two tracks, only one of which is active. The passing track, although present, has not been in use for several years. This limits the capacity of the infrastructure to make crossings with other trains.
