The area is characterized by the presence of a large valley, where there are slopes, woods, and waters, hence the nickname "valley of springs".

The physical geography of Valbrona

Valbrona stretches over a vast area, ranging from about 220 meters above sea level, in the locality of Liscione directly on the shore of Lake Como, Lecco side, to 504 meters above sea level. Near the village, there are also the Corni di Canzo, three rocky peaks with heights of about 1373, 1368, and 1232 meters above sea level. The fauna of Valbrona is very rich thanks to the presence of many wooded areas, fields, and streams that host many animals, birds, and fish. Among the present mammals, there are many deer that sometimes even come down to the built-up area. There are also mouflons, which have reproduced over time and repopulated the Moregallo areas and the woods of Valbrona. Among the species of fish, we can find the trouts (rainbow and salmon), the gobi/perch, and the royal perch.
