Physical geography

Territory

The territory of Valbondione is extensive and ranges from 750 meters above sea level in the valley to 3050 meters of Pizzo Coca, the highest peak in the municipality. It is interesting to note that it is the largest and most northern municipality in the province of Bergamo.

The northern part of the territory is delimited by the watershed of the Orobie Alps, which divides the province of Bergamo from that of Sondrio. To the southwest, it borders Gandellino through the ridge of Pizzo del Diavolo di Tenda, while to the south it includes the summit of the Sedornia Valley and the peak of Monte Vigna Vaga, which is the limit with the municipality of Colere. Finally, to the southeast, the border is given by the stretch that goes from Monte Vigna Vaga to the Manina Pass, continuing on Monte Sasna up to Pizzo dei Tre Confini.
