Monuments and Places of Interest

Vailate is rich in monuments and places of interest, including numerous religious and civil architectures. The Archpriestal Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul is one of the most famous, rebuilt in neoclassical forms between 1842 and 1849. The facade is characterized by the imposing porch with four columns that support the tympanum. Inside the church there are paintings by the painter Attilio Assandri, a 17th century painting by an unknown author and a 17th century wooden group depicting the Pieta by Giuseppe Antignati.

The Convent of the Servites, founded in 1511 and suppressed in 1787, preserves a cloister with a classic portico, also with two loggias. Few remains remain of the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, built in 1580. The Oratory of the Holy Marys of Bethany and Martha of Bethany stands at the limit of the disappeared northern gate and is characterized by a simple facade and a wooden ceiling with coffers. In addition, the Oratory of St. Joseph dates back to the 15th century and has three aisles identified by exposed terracotta pilasters.

The historical center of Vailate presents an urban layout that resembles a fortified village with eight towers, of which only a few fragments remain. Finally, Vailate is located in the area of the springs, so there are numerous springs. For their protection, the management of the municipality in the Capralba Springs Park is desirable.

Conclusions

In summary, Vailate offers its visitors a unique experience, between historical monuments and natural beauties.
