Hello everyone! Today I will talk to you about Tula, a small municipality located in Sardinia, Italy. Tula has a population of 1444 inhabitants and is located in the province of Sassari, in an area rich in history and natural beauty.

History

Like many places in Sardinia, Tula has a millennial history, dating back to the Neolithic era. The presence of the Tomba dei giganti and numerous Nuraghe testify to the presence of ancient human settlements. In the Middle Ages, Tula was part of the giudicato of Torres and then of the dominion of the Doria and the Aragonese. In the eighteenth century, the municipality was incorporated into the duchy of Monte Acuto, but then redeemed in 1839 with the suppression of the feudal system.

Symbols

The coat of arms and the flag of the municipality of Tula were granted by decree of the President of the Republic on December 20, 2001.

I recommend you to visit the Church of Sant'Elena Imperatrice, the Church of Nostra Signora di Coros and the Church of San Pietro a Sa Sia. Also, near Tula, you will find the archaeological site of Sa Mandra Manna, where you can admire the remains of a Nuragic village.

Demographic evolution

The population of Tula has been stable for several years, and on December 31, 2010, the foreign population residing in the municipality was 32 people.

Language and dialects

In Tula, the main language spoken is the Sardinian Logudorese Language, except in the fraction of Sa Sia, where the Gallurese language is spoken.

Administration

The municipality of Tula is governed by the mayor Nicola Nieddu who took office in 2016.
