Tricerro

Welcome to Tricerro!

Hello everyone! Would you like to visit a small town in Piedmont, surrounded by nature and with a different history from that of big cities? Then you're in the right place! Today I will tell you about Tricerro, a town of only 680 inhabitants in the province of Vercelli.

History

Tricerro has an ancient history, dating back to Roman times. Over the centuries, it has undergone various changes and transformations, and the population has drastically decreased in the last hundred years, from over 2,000 inhabitants in 1921 to only 680 in 2021. The municipality has a coat of arms and a banner granted in 1960 by the President of the Republic.

Society

The demographic evolution of Tricerro has been very significant. As I mentioned, the population has decreased by two-thirds in the last century, but this has not prevented the community from remaining united and valuing its traditions.

Infrastructure and transportation

Between 1878 and 1949, Tricerro was served by the Vercelli-Trino tram, a very popular means of transport at the time. Today the town can be reached by the suburban lines 60 and 94 of ATAP, which connect Tricerro with Biella and Vercelli.

Administration

The mayor of Tricerro since 2019 is Carlo Borgo, who is committed to enhancing the territory and improving the quality of life of its citizens.

Tourist attractions

The small town of Tricerro does not have many tourist sites, but a recently opened water park called Acquasmile attracts many visitors, especially during the summer season. The mild climate and peaceful environment make the town ideal for a day trip.
