Tribiano: where history meets industry

Tribiano, a municipality in the metropolitan city of Milan, has a population of 3,667 inhabitants and covers an area of 4.150 km². Notable for its Roman history, the location was part of the province of Lodi before being assigned to Milan during the Napoleonic era.

Physical geography

The town extends along several main roads and covers a territory that is nearly 3 km wide. Tribiano was a historical agricultural center in the past; however, in 1960, there were around 70 factories and industries installed that increased employment and the economy. The landscape is typical of the Po Valley, with long avenues lined with poplars, plane trees, and willows, surrounded by fields and ditches, including the Addetta Canal, a branch of the Muzza Canal that divides the town from northeast to southwest.

History

Tribiano was founded during the Roman era and grew to become a fraction of Paullo in 1809. After the Second War of Independence and the ratification of the Rattazzi Decree in 1859, Tribiano was assigned to the province of Milan before deciding to remain in the province of Milan after the establishment of the province of Lodi in 1992.

Tribiano has several fractions, including Lanzano, Zoate, and San Barbaziano. Zoate was a fiefdom and became a county in 1668; there is a golf course and the Vortice company located there.

Sports

U.S.D Tribiano, which plays in the E Lombardy promotion football league, is the main football team in the town. There are local associations that manage other important sports such as basketball, javara jitsu, etc.

Tribiano is a rare combination of a fascinating history and a flourishing social community. The municipality has become a place where tradition and innovation converge, bringing together a variety of diverse cultures in a unique way. Although small, the town offers many opportunities to its residents and visitors.
