Hi everyone! Today I'll talk to you about Trevignano, an Italian municipality in the province of Treviso in the Veneto region. Divided into several localities, the municipal headquarters is located in Falzè.
Origins of the name
The name Trevignano derives from the personal predial name Trebinius to which the suffix -ānus has been added.
History
Trevignano has an ancient and interesting history, with several archaeological evidences from the Roman period and a strong presence in the Middle Ages. The coat of arms and flag of the municipality were granted by the President of the Republic in 1973.
Monuments and places of interest
Among the most important religious monuments in the municipality is the church of San Teonisto and Compagni Martiri in Trevignano. There are also numerous Venetian villas, such as Villa Bruna, Villa Cadò, Villa Coletti, Villa Favaretto, Villa Manin and Villa Onigo, to name a few.
Economy
Agriculture is still an important presence in this territory, thanks to the favorable characteristics of the land. It allows for the cultivation of cereals, vegetables, wheat, vines, orchards and the breeding of animals such as cattle, sheep and pigs. In addition, the industrial fabric is mainly represented by footwear factories and dairy companies, as well as various construction companies.
Anthropogenic geography
Trevignano is located along the provincial road 69 Schiavonesca, in the western part of the municipality. The municipality's headquarters is in Falzè, where the SP 69 and the SP 100 cross in a north-south direction. There are other geographical fractions such as Signoressa, east of Falzè, and Musano to the south of the municipality. Other important localities are Zapparè and Colmello Sant'Elena.

Ethnicities and foreign minorities
