History
In 1014 AD, Henry II the Holy granted Travaco to the Monastery of San Felice (Pavia). The territory of the current municipality of Travaco Siccomario was part of the small Pavia dominion administrative unit, called Siccomario. This area was separated from the rest of the dominion by a canal called "Rotta," an ancient branch of the Po that made it an island. In the past, the territory had no significant centers, but rather several small municipalities with farmsteads and churches. In the 17th century, the municipalities were: Mezzano Siccomario, Santa Maria della Strada, Santa Maria Travaco, Cascina Lebba in Mezzano, Cascina Lebba in Travaco, Valbona, Predemasco, and Costa Caroliana. However, these small municipalities merged over time, leaving only Mezzano Siccomario and Santa Maria della Strada remaining, which unified into Travaco Siccomario in 1863.
