History
The city of Trappeto was founded in the fifteenth century, near the Partenia forest, as an agricultural and fishing center and enjoyed a period of great prosperity in the sixteenth century. However, in the 1600s, the city was abandoned by its inhabitants, who returned at the end of the 1700s, when the vine was grown.
The municipality of Trappeto obtained autonomy on June 24, 1954 with Regional Law No. 19 of 3/7/1954 and has seen the development of tourism in recent decades.
Symbols
The coat of arms and the banner of the city of Trappeto were granted by the decree of the President of the Republic on July 16, 1996. The banner is a white cloth.

The Beach: Ciammarita
Trappeto's beach is the famous Ciammarita: a splendid expanse of sand overlooking an open sea in a very windy place. It is located a short distance from the center of Trappeto and is accessible both from the motorway towards Trapani (exit Partinico-Trappeto) and from SS 113.
