Discovering the Ummari Station

Hi friends, today I want to tell you about an old railway station that was located on the Palermo-Trapani Railway ## Palermo Trapani (via Milo) line. We are talking about the Ummari Station, which served the town of Ummari, a hamlet of Trapani.

History

The Ummari Station has an interesting history. It was inaugurated on September 15th, 1937, when the Alcamo Junction Station to Trapani Station railway line was activated. For many years, it was an important station for the area, but in 2001 it was downgraded to a railway stop. The following year, it was finally discontinued.

The Ummari Station was an old railway structure. It was called a "Stop" and later a Station managed by the Operator. In June 1986, it was "disabled". The owner of the structure was Giovanni Fratantonio, assisted by Antonino Patricola and Vito Marano. Despite its discontinuation, the old station remained a place of great fascination for the residents of the area.

There are no longer any trains passing through the Ummari Station. However, the old railway structure has been preserved. Today, it represents a tourist attraction for those who want to visit this part of Sicily.
