Torrile is made up of several hamlets: San Polo (the seat of the municipality), Gainago, San Siro, Sant'Andrea, Frara, Bezze, Vicomero, Borgazzo, Rivarolo and of course Torrile itself. The most populous hamlet is San Polo, where you will also find the main industries and the Torrile-San Polo railway station.

The territory of the Municipality of Torrile offers many monuments and places of interest from a historical point of view.

Pieve of San Giovanni Battista

Set in the hamlet of Gainago, the Pieve of San Giovanni Battista was built between the end of the 11th and the beginning of the 12th centuries in Romanesque style. In the 13th century, it was reconstructed in the same style in the apse area and then completely renovated in neoclassical style in 1744. In 1932, the facade was rebuilt in neo-Romanesque style.

Parish church of San Biagio

The parish church of Torrile was rebuilt in neoclassical style in the 19th century, but has ancient origins.

Villa Balduino-Serra

Villa Balduino-Serra is surrounded by an over sixty-year-old park wanted by the owner Giuseppe Balduino. The villa has been rebuilt and renovated several times, with the aim of making it worthy of the name it bears.

The Tower

Despite being called Torre (Tower), this medieval building is located in the hamlet of Gainago. Built by the Valserena monastery, the cardinal Gerardo Bianchi was born here. It is definitely the oldest monument in the Municipality of Torrile.

Natural areas

Nature lovers can enjoy the Oasi di Torrile, an area that allows even the youngest to get to know nature and observe the local fauna. As an alternative, you can take a walk on the Parma River bed, admiring the hilly landscape.

Society

As for the demographic evolution, Torrile is a municipality that has seen an increase in population in recent years. Thanks to the many business activities and numerous places of interest, more and more people are approaching this area of the lower Parmesan.
