Torcegno

Welcome to Torcegno, the Trentino municipality just steps away from nature

Hello everyone! Today we will talk about Torcegno, the Trentino municipality surrounded by nature with a population of only 681 inhabitants. Let's immediately discover together the origins of this beautiful place.

Origins of the name

The toponym of Torcegno seems to have Celtic-Rhaetian origins and takes its name from Erica, an evergreen plant that is abundant in the woods of the village. However, another version sees the meaning of the name as "tower on Ceggio", the stream that flows next to the inhabited area. In reality, the coat of arms of the municipality depicts a tower near a watercourse.
