Ticineto

Ticineto: history, society and administration

Hello friends! Today I want to talk to you about Ticineto, a charming Italian municipality located in the province of Alessandria, in Piedmont. With its 1,331 inhabitants, Ticineto is a peaceful and quiet place to live, and its historical roots go back many centuries.

History

For those who love history, Ticineto can offer interesting insights. For example, the coat of arms of the municipality dates back to May 22, 1942 and consists of a Guelph crenellated castle with three towers, behind which two swords are placed in the cross of St. Andrew. Everything is on a blue and black background. The gonfalon, instead, is split in blue and red.

Ticineto: History, Society, and Local Administration

Society

Demographic evolution

Regarding Ticineto's society, we can make a brief excursion on its demographic evolution. Since the 1970s, the municipality has seen a progressive decline in the number of residents, mainly due to the economic crisis of the province and the exodus to large cities.

Administration

Moving on to local administration, I leave you with a summary table of the administrations that have taken turns over the years in Ticineto.

Notes

Of course, as for every Italian municipality, there are many other interesting sources that allow us to deepen the history of Ticineto. For example, the MonferratoArte Database Bank site contains a vast historical-bibliographic repertoire of artists active in the suburban churches of the diocese of Casale Monferrato.
