The Beginnings: Sport Verein Milland

The history of Fussball Club Südtirol begins in 1974 with the founding of Società Sport Verein Milland by a group of footballers registered with the two major football clubs in Bressanone. The club was officially founded on April 26 of the same year by insurer Ubald Comper and adopted yellow-black as its club colors. The club began to operate in the youth sector, participating in the provincial Juniores championship in the 1974-75 season.

The Birth of F.C. Südtirol

In 1995, the football section of Sport Verein Milland was renamed "Football Club Südtirol-Alto Adige" and chose white-red as its club colors. The club's name represents the entire territory of the autonomous province of Bolzano and, after the move to Bolzano in 2000, the name became "F.C. Südtirol."

The club quickly established itself as a reference point for football in Alto Adige: Fussball Club Südtirol boasts the highest number of seasons in professionalism among the province's teams.

Promotion to Serie B

In the 2021-2022 season, Fussball Club Südtirol made history by gaining promotion to Serie B thanks to its victory in the F.C. Südtirol group A. The club was therefore the only one in the province to achieve such a promotion in the era of a single group.

Achievements and Failures

The club has achieved many milestones in a short time, becoming a reference point for football in Alto Adige. However, over the years, the club has also suffered several failures.

Achievements

Over the years, Fussball Club Südtirol has achieved many milestones. For example, the club was able to conquer the Coppa Italia Dilettanti in the 2010-2011 season.

However, not all the club's goals were achieved. For example, over the years, the club failed to win the Lega Pro, despite participating in the playoffs three times.

The Future of the Club

The future of Fussball Club Südtirol seems very promising. After the success in the 2021-2022 season, the club was promoted to Serie B and will play the 2022-2023 season in the second tier of Italian football.

However, the club will have to continue working hard to maintain its level of performance and achieve new goals in Italian football.
