Temù
Discovering Temù, the municipality in Val Camonica
Hello everyone! Today I want to talk about a small Italian municipality located in Lombardy, in Val Camonica: Temù. With its 1,112 inhabitants, this town is a true gem, nestled in a breathtaking natural landscape.
Physical geography
Territory
Temù is divided into three hamlets: Lecanù, Pontagna, and Villa Dalegno. All three are located at over 1,100 meters altitude, surrounded by mountains and untouched nature. The town is only 4 km away from the famous tourist resort of Ponte di Legno, so we can say that it is in a strategic position for those who love skiing, trekking, and all outdoor activities.
History
The Union of Municipalities
Temù is part of the Union of Municipalities of the Upper Camonica Valley, which also includes Ponte di Legno, Vione, Vezza d'Oglio, Incudine, and Monno. This union of municipalities was created in 2000 and covers an area of approximately 284.10 km².
The merger with Ponte di Legno
In recent years, the proposal for a merger between Temù and Ponte di Legno has been put forward, but the respective referendum has not approved the proposal neither in 2012 nor in 2017.
Sports
Thanks to its proximity to the renowned ski resort of Ponte di Legno-Tonale, Temù is the ideal place for ski enthusiasts. Trekking and Nordic walking are also very popular, thanks to the numerous trails that cross the surrounding valley.
In short, if you want to spend a vacation in contact with nature, far from the daily stress, Temù is the right place for you! All that's left to do is to book your next adventure.
