Tavagnacco
Discovering Tavagnacco, a Friulian municipality between Udine and nature
Hello everyone! Today I want to tell you about Tavagnacco, a small but very characteristic municipality in the heart of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, in Italy. With its 14,799 inhabitants, Tavagnacco is a scattered municipality, whose civic center is located in the Feletto Umberto fraction.
A overview of the physical geography of Tavagnacco
Tavagnacco is located 137 meters above sea level and borders the city of Udine, with which it forms a continuous urban area. The territory of Tavagnacco extends to the first moraine slopes and includes an area of around 15.25 square kilometers. The municipality is surrounded by other municipalities, such as Tricesimo and Reana del Rojale to the north, while the western border is delimited by the municipality of Pagnacco thanks to the Cormôr ravines. To the west, we find the municipalities of Martignacco and Pasian di Prato, while to the south and east the border is delimited by the municipality of Udine.

The history of Tavagnacco: a past of social and structural changes
The history of Tavagnacco is strongly influenced by the communication routes crossed by the municipality. These changes have led to a progressive increase in the local population and in housing and productive settlements. Today, the municipality has almost 15,000 inhabitants, a remarkable increase compared to the approximately 6,719 residents in 1961. Although the natural balance of the population is in equilibrium, the population continues to grow, also thanks to the migration of Udine residents in search of a better quality of life.
A municipality between nature and urbanization
Tavagnacco, with its strategic position in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, is a municipality in balance between nature and urban development. The beauty of the surrounding landscape is a great reason to take a bike ride or walk, in the green of the woods and the freshness of the Cormor and Torre streams. At the same time, the municipality offers all the necessary services for a comfortable daily life, such as health services, schools and much more.
The fractions of Tavagnacco and their characteristics
Tavagnacco is not limited to its inhabited center: there are in fact several fractions that are an integral part of the municipality. Adegliacco, Cavalicco and Molin Nuovo, for example, have now become a single urban center, located next to Udine and separated from it only by the Cividina road. Another fraction is Branco, located between Tavagnacco and Feletto Umberto, and Colugna which is contiguous to the Rizzi district of Udine. Finally, Santa Fosca is considered a hamlet of Adegliacco and took its name from a small church located in the same area, but which collapsed in the winter of 1928.

In conclusion, Tavagnacco is a very interesting Friulian municipality, where you can enjoy nature, tranquility and an excellent quality of life.
