Monuments and Places of Interest

Parish Church

The parish church of Arfanta, formerly dependent on the Tarzo parish, became a parish in the 15th century. Despite having undergone changes over the years, the interventions have preserved its oldest parts, dating back to the 15th century. Among the works present, one can admire a painting by Francesco da Milano dated August 22, 1522, the organ by Antonio and Gaetano Callido dating back to 1802 and various sacred silverware. Furthermore, the baptismal font located in the cathedral of Conegliano comes precisely from this church. Lastly, a stone on the bell tower around the entrance bears the date 1724, while the bells, stolen by Austrian soldiers during the Great War, were recovered in 1921.

Casa Crotta, Dalle Crode, Tibolet, Galeotti

This is a building dating back to the 16th century located in the hamlet of Costa di Là. The place, also known as "al Casin", would have been used as a hunting lodge by the Crotta family before and then by the Dalle Crode family. The building's facade is facing west and shows a certain symmetry, aligning two single windows on the raised floor on each side. Above the portal is the frescoed coat of arms of the noble Crotta family, the first owners of the property. During the conservative restoration, it was possible to notice a room with a stucco mirror depicting geometric and animal motifs.

Casa Marchetti, Dal Col

Located in Costetta, Casa Marchetti represents the only building that stands out among the village's rustic buildings. The building, dating back to the 18th century, overlooks a small garden bounded by a stone wall and faces south on the main front. The entrance on the ground floor is represented by a round arch portal, which follows the same opening scheme for all three levels of the building.

Conclusions

Arfanta is a hamlet of great historical and cultural interest, characterized by a hilly territory and a breathtaking 360-degree view. Among the monuments and places of interest, the parish church certainly represents a point of reference, along with the two historical houses Casa Crotta and Casa Marchetti. And then, of course, the village of Costetta, with all its architectural beauties typical of the area. If you are planning a trip to the province of Treviso, you cannot miss the opportunity to visit this splendid hamlet of the Municipality of Tarzo.
