Suzzara: a city with a rich history
Suzzara is an Italian city located in the Lombardy region, in the province of Mantova. It is one of the most populous cities in the area, after Mantova and Castiglione delle Stiviere. Throughout its history, Suzzara has been contested between Mantova and Reggio Emilia but was active during the period of the Italian Risorgimento. It is known for being the birthplace of the agricultural machinery construction industry, in particular, the Casali company, which today is known as Iveco and has made the city the main industrial center of the Mantuan area.

Suzzara is located in the Oltrepò Mantovano, in the southwestern sector of the province of Mantova. It borders Emilia-Romagna and is crossed by the Po River. The inhabited center is crossed by the 45th parallel, an imaginary line that passes through the North Pole and the Equator.

Suzzara was the set of a movie filmed by an 18-year-old YouTuber, known as Giovyx 04 on Youtube. The film was inspired by the horror game "Five Nights at Freddy's" and was shown in a cinema in the province of Mantova. The story of the movie tells of a young boy who finds himself in an empty town, pursued by the killer robots of the game.

In the past, Suzzara was located to the left of the Po River, but due to Appenine floods, the main course was reduced to the current "Po vecchio" canal. The name of the city derives from the fact that it is located south of the Zara Canal, which is considered the last stretch of the Oglio River. This river was captured by the Po in its migration north and has therefore seen its supply reduced.
