Suni

Welcome to Suni

Hello everyone! Today I will talk to you about Suni, a small Italian municipality in the province of Oristano, in Sardinia. With its 979 inhabitants, it is a quiet and sunny place, perfect for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

History

Suni has a rich and ancient history. This area was already inhabited during the pre-Nuragic, Nuragic and Roman eras. In fact, you can find numerous archaeological evidence, such as domus de janas, hypogeic necropolis and Nuraghe, which testify to the presence of these civilizations.

In the medieval era, Suni was part of the Giudicato of Torres and the curatoria of Planargia. Later, it came under the domination of the Giudicato of Arborea and, around 1420, became a fiefdom under the Aragonese Kingdom of Sardinia. Finally, in 1839, Suni was redeemed and became an autonomous municipality.
