The territory of Stregna extends over an area of 19.7 square kilometers, in the shape of a fan, from Mount Cum to the border with the municipality of Prepotto. The area is crossed by the river Judrio and the stream Erbezzo. The landscape is characterized by mountains and valleys, including Mount Santa Maria Maddalena, Mount San Giovanni, Mount Špik, and Mount Cum, which stands out for its altitude of 912 meters. The hamlets of Stregna are located both on the slopes of the mountains and on the plateau that leads to the sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Castelmonte, located at an altitude between 600 and 670 meters.

Hiking and nature

If you are passionate about trekking and hiking, Stregna is the right place! The municipality is crossed by numerous trails, including the Sentiero Italia (marked with the Italian Alpine Club sign) and the Ponte Clinaz - Clabuzzaro trail, which allows you to admire rich beech forests and breathtaking views of the valley. The area is also rich in watercourses, including the river Judrio and the stream Erbezzo.

Caves and cavities

Although Stregna is not famous for its caves and cavities, there are some interesting cavities to explore. There are 17 caves and wells, including the Velenizza Cave, located near Postregna. The Velenizza Cave is considered the most important of all, with an entrance at an altitude of 260 meters and an internal path of over 1610 meters.

Agriculture and animals

Stregna is also an ideal location for those who love outdoor life and nature. In fact, the plateau located on the scenic road that leads to the sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Castelmonte is used for the cultivation of corn and other cereals and for the production of hay and grazing of livestock.
