Copanello

Welcome to Copanello di Stalettì

Hello everyone! Today I bring you to discover Copanello di Stalettì, a small village located along the Ionian coast of the province of Catanzaro, in Calabria. Also known as the "Pearl of the Ionian", Copanello extends along a beautiful coast characterized by green hills and granite cliffs plunging into the crystal clear sea.

Physical geography

Copanello is located in the center of the Gulf of Squillace, in the area known as "Coast of Oranges" due to the citrus groves that dot the area. Its geographical position makes it a strategic point to admire the Ionian coast from Isola di Capo Rizzuto to Punta Stilo. Copanello is divided into two parts: Copanello alto, located on a hill a few meters above sea level, and Copanello lido, the coastal area where you can find white beaches and hidden coves.

Copanello di Stalettì: the pearl of the Calabrian Ionian sea.

The territory of Copanello is rich in natural wonders. Thanks to its green hills and typical Mediterranean flora and fauna, you can take walks immersed in nature and enjoy fantastic views of the sea and the Calabrian hinterland. In addition, the presence of white granite promontories that slope gently towards the sea creates a unique landscape, made of cliffs, coves and beaches with crystal clear waters.

Urban planning

Copanello alto is accessible through the SS 106 Jonica, which crosses the village also connecting Copanello lido, Santa Maria del Mare and Caminia. Alternatively, you can reach the village via the Provincial Road 52, which passes through the nearby villages of Torre Elena and Lucerta. Copanello lido, on the other hand, is located at sea level and can be reached through two roads. The first is an exit from the SS 106 Jonica that passes under an old railway bridge and joins the main square of the village.
