Hello everyone! Today I present to you Sorisole, a municipality in the province of Bergamo, Lombardy. With its 8,936 inhabitants, Sorisole is a peaceful and welcoming place where nature plays an important role.
Physical geography
Territory
Sorisole borders with several municipalities, including Zogno, Ponteranica, Bergamo, and Almè. In addition to the urban center, Sorisole capoluogo, there are also various hamlets such as Azzonica, Petosino, Premerlino, Comunelli, Botta Alta, and many others.
Orography
The territory is very varied and ranges from mountains to hills, to the plain. Among the highest peaks are Corna dell'Uomo, Canto Alto, Campanua, and Luvrida. Instead, the Dross plain is located near the hills of Bergamo.
Hydrography
The territory of Sorisole is crossed by several streams that are part of the hydrographic basin of the Brembo river. Among the main ones are Giongo, which originates from Canto Alto and flows eastward until it flows into the Brembo, and Quisa, which skirts the hills of Bergamo and flows southward until it also flows into the Brembo. Then there are also Morla and Bondaglio, a tributary of Quisa.
Climate
The climate of Sorisole is temperate, therefore quite mild.

If you come to Sorisole, I recommend taking a walk in the midst of nature. In fact, there are many trails and bike paths that will allow you to discover the enchanting landscapes of this area. You can also visit the Church of San Bernardino, which dates back to the 15th century, or the Castle of Petosino, which is located on a hill and from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the valley.

In Sorisole, there are several festivals that take place throughout the year. For example, there is the Sagra della Polenta e delle Castagne, which is held in November and includes the tasting of typical dishes based on polenta and chestnuts. Instead, in July the Mostra delle Rose is organized, an event dedicated to the most beautiful rose plants from all over the world.
