The history of Dascio
Until a few decades ago, Dascio was made up of houses and rustic buildings used for subsistence farming. In the past, the village was only reachable by the navigable route of the Mera River or the Antica Via Regina. However, today it is also accessible through the municipal dirt road.
The ancient ruined buildings in the urban fabric remain a testament to the past subsistence agriculture. However, the village of Dascio has become a peaceful residence and holiday destination immersed in the peace of the nearby natural reserve of Pian di Spagna, dominated by the majestic rocks of Mount Manduino. In 2002, the village of Sorico was the main set for the scenes of the miniseries "Renzo e Lucia".
The Church of San Biagio
In the center of the village of Dascio is the church dedicated to San Biagio. Every first Sunday of February, a procession takes place on the right bank of the Mera River in honor of the saint.
