Bonferraro

Welcome to Bonferraro!

Hello everyone! Today I will talk to you about Bonferraro, a hamlet of the town of Sorgà on the border between the provinces of Verona and Mantua. It is a small but very characteristic village, full of interesting monuments.

Monuments and places of interest

Bonferraro: between monuments and tranquility

Religious architecture

The church of Santa Maria and San Giuseppe is the parish church of the village, built in the first half of the 20th century to replace the older and disappeared church of Santa Maria, dating back to the 16th century. It is a beautiful example of religious architecture of the 20th century.

The edicola dell'Immacolata is a small altar dedicated to the Madonna located in via Chiesa Vecchia. It is very simple but has a unique charm.

The church of Santa Caterina, also known as the church of the pumpkins, dates back to the 15th century and is located in via Zucche. It has been recently restored thanks to the commitment of the volunteers of the village.

Transport and road system

The village is crossed by the Mantova-Monselice railway and has a stop serving the territory (Bonferraro station). The extra-urban bus line 147 of ATV (Verona) makes two stops there.

Conclusions

In conclusion, Bonferraro is a lovely place worth a visit. If you are in the area, I recommend stopping by the village to admire its architectural beauties and to enjoy some peace and quiet away from the chaos of the cities. I hope I have been helpful and I bid you goodbye until next time!
