History

Molteno has a rich history, as evidenced by the numerous artifacts found during archaeological excavations carried out in 1912. Among these artifacts, ten tombs from the 4th century AD and a coin of Emperor Constantine I dating back to the 4th century were found. During the Middle Ages, there was a castle in Molteno, which unfortunately was destroyed. During the Ambrosian Republic, a certain Petrolus de Molteno was among the administrators of the city of Milan for the year 1447.
