Sillavengo

Welcome to Sillavengo, a small Piedmontese village

Welcome to Sillavengo, a small municipality in the province of Novara, located in Piedmont. With only 555 inhabitants, this Piedmontese village is a peaceful place, immersed in nature and surrounded by hills. If you are looking for a place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Sillavengo is definitely the right place for you.

Monuments and places of interest

One of the main monuments in Sillavengo is the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. This sacred building, dating back to the 18th century, is located in the center of the village and is characterized by its imposing Baroque façade. Inside the church, you can admire precious works of art, such as a fresco by the Novara painter Martino Spanzotti.

Society

Demographic evolution

In recent years, the population of Sillavengo has remained almost stable. Despite emigration to larger urban centers, such as Novara and Vercelli, many families have chosen to stay in the Piedmontese village, contributing to keeping local traditions alive.

Historical curiosities

Near Sillavengo, between 1884 and 1933, there was a similar plant that served the Vercelli-Biandrate-Fara tramway. This railway line was very important for the transport of goods and people, but it was closed due to competition from rubber-tire transport.

Administration

Sillavengo has a municipal form of government, with a mayor and a municipal council elected directly by the population. Over the years, various administrations have succeeded, with the common goal of improving the quality of life for citizens and promoting the development of the territory.

Notes

If you are thinking of visiting Sillavengo, we recommend booking in advance, as the village does not have many accommodation facilities. However, if you are a nature and tranquility lover, you will not be disappointed!
