Servigliano

Welcome to Servigliano!

Hello everyone! Today I will talk about Servigliano, a municipality in the province of Fermo in the Marche region. With its 2246 inhabitants and lush nature, it is a charming place for those who love tranquility and outdoor life.

Physical geography

Servigliano is located in a privileged position, between the hills of the Umbria-Marche Apennines and the Adriatic Sea. Its climate is mild and pleasant, with not too hot summers and mild winters.

Discover Servigliano: history, nature, and sports in the Marche region.

History

The name Servigliano derives from a Roman villa that was located near the current position of the village. Over the centuries, Servigliano has undergone many transformations and its history is linked to the presence of the large prisoner of war camp built in 1915 and active until 1955. The camp housed prisoners of different nationalities and later Italian refugees, deeply marking the life of the village.

Society

The population of Servigliano is constantly increasing and the community is welcoming and supportive. The municipality is twinned with other villages and is part of the Area vasta n.4 of Fermo and of the unique regional health company of Marche (A.S.U.R. Marche).

Sport

Sport is a highly loved activity in Servigliano. The local football team, the San Marco, is highly appreciated and plays in the Eccellenza league. Furthermore, there is a five-a-side football team that plays in the UISP amateur championships. The table tennis company, A.S.D. Virtus Servigliano, was founded in 2012 and has already won five championships. The team is currently registered in series B1 and is composed of the Chinese Li Weimin, the young Matteo Cerza and the experienced Antonio Gigliotti. Servigliano has a modern and functional sports center located in the Parco della Pace, the former concentration camp, and a municipal stadium, the Settimi.

Conclusions

In conclusion, Servigliano is a pleasant and welcoming place where history, nature, sport and solidarity merge to create a unique community. If you are looking for a relaxing place to live or spend your holidays, I recommend visiting Servigliano and experiencing its warm hospitality.
