History
The inhabited center of Serravalle Sesia has a very ancient history. The fraction of Naula, once a Roman settlement, is mentioned in an imperial diploma to the bishop of Vercelli on May 7, 999. In 1255 the free village was founded instead. In 1927, the municipalities of Bornate, Piane Sesia, and Vintebbio were aggregated to Serravalle Sesia.
Symbols
The coat of arms and the gonfalon of Serravalle Sesia were granted by decree of the President of the Republic on September 25, 1960. The gonfalon is a light blue cloth.

Religious Architectures
The Pieve of Santa Maria di Naula is one of the most important examples of Romanesque architecture that can be found in Serravalle Sesia. Furthermore, the municipality hosts several other churches such as the Church of San Giovanni Battista, those of San Martino, Madonna del Rosario, and Madonna delle Nevi. In Bornate, an important fraction of the municipality, is located the Oratory of San Bernardo. Finally, in Euseo di Serravalle there is the Sanctuary of Sant'Euseo.

Infrastructure and Transport
Between 1908 and 1935, Serravalle Sesia had a railway station along the Grignasco-Coggiola railway. Subsequently, the station has been used as an industrial connection serving the local paper mill. In addition, during the period from 1880 to 1933, the municipality was also served by the Vercelli-Aranco tramway.
