Sergnano: A look at the commune

Hello friends, today we will talk about Sergnano, an Italian commune with a population of 3463 in the province of Cremona, Lombardy. It borders the communes of Casale Cremasco-Vidolasco, Pianengo, Capralba, Ricengo, and Mozzanica, and includes the hamlet of Trezzolasco.

History

Sergnano, formerly known as "Serenianum," owes its name to the ancient Roman colonist Serenius. Following the first century AD centuriation operation, the colonist Serenius obtained agricultural property, giving rise to the locality of agricultural origin. Since 1454 it has belonged to the territory of Crema under Venetian sovereignty.
