History
The history of Senna Lodigiana dates back to the 10th century, when the monastery of Santa Cristina owned vast estates in the area. Over the centuries, Senna underwent several territorial changes, until it was incorporated into Napoleon's empire. In 1863, the municipality took the name of Senna Lodigiana to distinguish itself from other places with the same name. In 1880, the municipality of Senna Lodigiana saw the birth of Don Enrico Pozzoli, the priest who baptized the future Pope Francis in 1936.
Symbols
The coat of arms of the municipality of Senna Lodigiana is characterized by three gold crenellated towers on a blue background, recalling the original fortified structure of the Castellaccio, one of the main attractions of the municipality.

The municipality of Senna Lodigiana offers several attractions, such as the church of San Germano d'Auxerre, built in 1914 and consecrated in 1934 by the Bishop of Lodi, Mons. Pietro Calchi Novati. The church of Santa Maria in Galilea, dating back to the 15th century, is instead situated in a dominant position compared to the surrounding countryside. In addition, Senna is crossed by the Via Francigena, which recalls the crossing of the Po River by the Archbishop of Canterbury Sigerico of Canterbury, on his way back from Rome.
