To the northwest are the Monti del Sole, while to the northeast we find the Schiara Group, which includes the highest peak of the Belluno Dolomites National Park: Monte Schiara, which reaches 2,565 meters above sea level.

Sedico is located in a geologically complex area, located on the border between the Trentina Platform and the Belluno Basin. The area is subject to intense variations from a tectonic, climatic and sedimentological point of view.

The municipality of Sedico was hit by an earthquake of magnitude 4.83 on the Richter scale on June 29, 1401, without any reported damage to people or things.
