Sciara is a municipality in the metropolitan city of Palermo, in Sicily, with a population of 2,535 inhabitants. The town was founded by Filippo Notarbartolo Cipolla on the territory of the homonymous fiefdom belonging to Baroness Eleonora Cipolla.
Events and Festivals
Sciara hosts numerous events and festivals throughout the year, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the authentic Sicilian culture. Among the city's main events are the Anniversary of the Murder of Salvatore Carnevale, held on May 16th in memory of a trade unionist killed by the mafia, and the Sciara Street Food Fest, which takes place during the month of July and celebrates Sicilian street food.
