Our land

Environment

The municipality of Scheggia and Pascelupo is the only Umbrian municipality located entirely on the Adriatic side of the Apennine mountain range and is located within the Monte Cucco Park, occupying a vast area of this territory characterized by forests, rocky walls, clear water sources and a remarkable variety of plants and animals, including the endangered Apennine wolf, the golden eagle and the otter.

The territory is crossed by the Sentino river and numerous other waterways, including the sources of fresh water such as Fontanelle, Lorno and Tino. There are also numerous surrounding mountains, including Mount Catria, Monte Cucco, Mount Motette, Mount Le Gronde, the Rio Freddo Gorge and the Valle delle Prigioni.

Climate

The climate of our municipality is typical of a medium mountain area: winters are harsh, with minimum temperatures constantly below zero, while summers are cool and windy, with maximum temperatures that rarely exceed 30 degrees.

Culture and traditions

The municipality of Scheggia and Pascelupo shares, along with other cities such as Fano, Cervia, Sellano and Grottammare, the cult of Saint Paternian bishop. In addition, the mountain of Scheggia is home to the sanctuary of Monte Calvario, located on the eponymous mountain.

History

Our municipality suffered the effects of the 1997 Umbria and Marche earthquake, which hit Umbria and Marche. However, we were able to recover and rebuild our splendid territory.

Let yourself be conquered

Come and discover Scheggia and Pascelupo, a municipality immersed in the beauty of nature, in the heart of the Umbro-Marchigiano Apennine mountain range. Its rural fractions, mountains, springs and the cult of Saint Paternian bishop will conquer you. We are waiting for you with open arms!
