Demographic evolution
Scarnafigi has seen a decrease in its population over the years, going from around 2500 inhabitants in 1951 to just over 2000 currently.
Foreigners
According to data from the National Institute of Statistics, as of December 31st, 2017, there were 240 foreign citizens residing in the town. The majority of these were Albanians, followed by Romanians and Indians.
Infrastructure and transport
An interesting fact about the town of Scarnafigi concerns its history of public transportation. Between 1882 and 1950 the town was served by the Turin-Saluzzo tramway. Who knows how many inhabitants used that means of transport to move around the area!
