History

The history of Saviore dell'Adamello dates back to 1397, when the representative of the Saviore community, Ottobono Predorni, sided with the Ghibellines during the Peace of Breno. In 1423, the Bishop of Brescia, Francesco Marerio, invested the rights of the tenth in the surrounding territories of Bertolino della Torre di Cemmo. In 1927, the municipality of Saviore was merged with that of Cevo to form Valsaviore, but in 1954 the municipality of Valsaviore was abolished and replaced by the municipalities of Saviore dell'Adamello and Cevo.

Symbols

The coat of arms and the banner of the municipality of Saviore dell'Adamello were granted by decree of the President of the Republic in 1986. The banner is a split flag of red and blue.

Celebrations

On June 24th, the patron saint's festival of San Giovanni Battista is celebrated. In the past, it was customary to decorate the inner cornice of the parish church with red veils and form arches of Picea abies branches, called "dàse" in the Camuno dialect. Children collected the vegetable resin and lit it as candles.
