Banco
Banco: a small hamlet in Sanzeno
Hello friends, today I will talk about Banco, a small hamlet located in the municipality of Sanzeno in the autonomous province of Trento. Banco, also known as Banc in the local dialect, is a place with a very interesting history. The municipality was autonomous until 1928, but was then annexed to Sanzeno. Then, in 1953, Banco was once again reconstituted as an autonomous municipality, only to be annexed again to Sanzeno in 1968.
Monuments and places of interest
If you pass through Banco, you must not miss the Church of Sant'Antonio, documented since 1376. The church, with its splendid frescoes, is an example of local sacred art. Another church to visit is the Church of San Valentino, documented in 1537. Thanks to its architecture and the beauty of the works of art contained within it, this place of worship is very popular among the locals.
The bar
In Banco there is also a bar where you can stop for a coffee or a glass of local wine. It is called Bar del Centro and is a welcoming and informal place to meet the locals and take a pleasant break during your tour of the area.
Notes
If you want to know more about Banco and its surroundings, do not hesitate to ask for information from tourist guides or staff at the tourism office in Sanzeno.
