Origins of the name

The village underwent a repopulation of slaves in the fifteenth century, through which they settled in many other nearby locations such as Mozzagrogna, Scorciosa, Stanazzo and Pietra Costantina. In 1816, with the fall of Gioacchino Murat, the municipalities of Santa Maria Imbaro, Treglio, and Mozzagrogna regained their autonomy.
