Today I will talk about Sant'Antonino di Susa, an Italian municipality in the metropolitan city of Turin in Piedmont. The city has a population of 4,379 and is located on the right bank of the river Dora Riparia in the lower Val di Susa.
History
The first residential nucleus of Sant'Antonino di Susa dates back to the early Middle Ages with the village of Sant'Agata, which was the seat of the Provost of San Desiderio. In 1043, the lords of San Giusto di Susa built the Church of Sant'Agostino, which still stands in the center of the city today.

Via Francigena
The Via Francigena, an ancient road connecting Canterbury to Rome, also passes through Sant'Antonino di Susa. The road continues towards Vaie and Sant'Ambrogio di Torino.
Economy
Industry
Sant'Antonino di Susa was particularly tied to the textile industry, especially to the construction of the cotton industry "Wild & Abegg" in 1900. The company subsequently changed its name to "Cotonificio Vallesusa" in 1914 and provided employment for much of the local population. However, the economic crisis of the 1960s led to a downturn in employment in the area.
